Rebels Hit Copter in Afghanistan

Kabul : An International Security Assistance Force helicopter made an emergency landing in the eastern Afghan province of Kunar on Monday, after being bombarded by alleged Afghan rebels, reported military sources in this capital on Monday.

According to the ISAF, commanded by NATO, the copter landed in a military base following a machine-gun attack.

During the inspection, the crew found a bullet hole which caused light damage in the structure of the helicopter.

Sources said that no passengers were wounded in the attack on the copter, which is being repaired at the ISAF base in Kunar.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that a hand grenade detonation hit an Afghan police patrol in Kabul on Monday.

General Zemarai Bashary told the media that the explosion was an accident since the grenade fell down from one policeman who was in the group.

Bashary also said that three children died and two others were wounded in Kabul when an old missile detonated while they were playing with it.
