Gaza : A missile was fired on Sunday from northern Gaza Strip towards southern Israel, an Israeli Army spokesman said.
An army spokesman told an Israeli radio station that the rocket landed in an open area near the Israeli settlement of Ashkelon, north Gaza Strip.
The explosion did not cause any causalities or material damage, he added.
No Palestinian faction claimed responsibility for the attack.
