Brazzaville : The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region Inter-ministerial Commission will run a 48-hour debate on the pact on security, stability and development.
The foreign ministers will arrange the agenda for the 3rd Great Lakes Summit Kishasa will host in December and assess the pact’s enforcement since the 2nd Summitheld last November in Nairobi, Kenya.
Other topics on the agenda are setting up a Special Reconstruction and Development Fund with support from the African Development Bank.
The meeting will gather the foreign ministers from Angola, Burundi, Congo Brazzaville, CentralAfricaRepublic, Congo Kishasa, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzaniaand Zambia.
The organizers invited officials from Botswana, Egypt, Malawi, Ethiopia, Namibia, Zimbabweand South Africa, plus friends of the Great Lakeslike Canadaand Holland, plus the UN and EU.
