Israel awaits Hezbollah”s response to new prisoners exchange deal

Gaza : Israel announced Monday that it was waiting for a response from Hezbollah on the new prisoners’ exchange deal which was proposed a few weeks ago through a German meditation.

According to the Israeli media, the new proposal deal aimed at freeing two Israel soldiers, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, who were captured by Hezbollah, adding that the new deal would allow the release of four Lebanese prisoners, the handing of Israeli spy Nassim Nasser, and the return of body remains of 10 Hezbollah members.

Meanwhile, Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth said that the recent progression on the deal means that the issue would be resolved soon especially with Hezbollah’s Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah’s exclusion of Palestinian, Jordanian, and Syrian prisoners from the issue.

During his speech for the Lebanese people, Nasrallah announced news about the near release of Hezbollah prisoner Samir Al-Qantar, who spent 20 years in Israeli prisons, and others.
