Temperature on the rise in north India

New Delhi : Temperature began rising in most of the northern states signalling the comeback of summer after an unusually pleasant spell. The maximum temperature in many central and western Indian cities like Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Bhopal was recorded at more than 40 degrees Celsius Thursday.

Nagpur was hard hit by heat wave as the maximum temperature was recorded at 44 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature was 27.4 degrees Celsius.

The national capital went back to the sweltering summer days after an unusual spell of heavy monsoon-like and agreeable weather. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 24.2 degrees Celsius.

According to the met office, the weather would remain mostly dry throughout the week, though occasional thundershowers are expected at some places.

Although the temperature is on rise in the north, the eastern and southern states are likely to get rain in the coming days.

According to the weatherman Kerala, Lakshadweep Islands and coastal Karnataka will get thunder showers. However, Andhra Pradesh, another South Indian state is unlikely to get relief from the scorching summer as the the Maximum temperature in many parts of the state is more than 40 degrees Celsius.
