“Very soon around 100,000 youth will be appointed in government service through the service commission. The state government has initiated the process to fill all the vacant posts in various departments,” said Soren while addressing a gathering here in Morabadi Ground.

He said: “Local people will be preferred for appointment as constables so that they can understand the local languages of the people of the state.”

He announced launch of the Chief Minister’s Food Security Programme to provide free foodgrain to members of primitive tribes. Under the scheme, the primitive tribes will be given 35 kg foodgrain every month.

Soren said that the government job would be provided to a member from those families that laid down their lives for the movement of separate state.

Jharkhand is celebrating its eighth foundation day on a low-key note to mourn the death of five schoolchildren due to food poisoning. The cultural programme was cancelled as a mark of homage to the dead students.

Soren participated in scores of programme organised to celebrate the foundation day.

A dream of Soren, who had fought for a separate state, came to true Saturday when he participated in the foundation day programme as chief minister. Soren had desired to become chief minister after the creation of Jharkhand.
