By Xinhua,
Baghdad : A suicide bombing attack on Friday killed at least eight people and wounded 15 at a Shiite mosque in south of Baghdad, an interior ministry source said.
A suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up at the Shiite mosque in the town of Musayyab, about 50 km south of the capital, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attack struck as worshipers were entering the mosque during the Friday weekly prayers.
The mosque belongs to Shiites loyal to hardline cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, whose lawmakers in the Iraqi parliament vehemently opposed the approval of the security pact with United States on Thursday.
