Kabul : Several deaths occurred in western and southern Afghanistan as consequence of two actions, according to reports of the police and government officials.
In one of the events a suicide victim in a car bomb attacked the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) near the Western Afghan city of Heart where most of the soldiers deployed are Italians.
The suicide victim attacked the NATO convoy on its way to the airport in the outskirts of that locality, said the chief of the regional police Rahmataullah Safai.
Several people died and others were wounded in the incident, declared ISAF spokesman but he refused to give more details.
Attacks with bombs are relatively unusual near Heart, one of the most prosperous and peaceful cities in Afghanistan and the main trade market with Iran, emphasized the media in the region.
Meanwhile in the southern province of Kandahar, the rebels’ bastion, an important chief of a tribe Ali Ahmad Khan and his son Gul Ahmad were shot.
Afghanistan is suffering the worst levels of violence since the forces led by United States defeated the Taliban regime in 2001.
