“The members of the Security Council expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and Government of Syria,” the UNSC stressed.

It also said that the members “underlined the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism to justice,” urging all countries to support Syria under their obligations to the international community.

The UNSC added that its members were against acts of terrorism, which it described as “criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation” stressing the need to tackle all threats to international peace and security in compliance with its obligations to international law regarding “human rights, refugee and humanitarian law.”
