Joint Commissioner of Police (Southern Range) Ajai Kashyap said the police had earlier suspected Allauddin, admitted in the Trauma Centre of the All Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with splinters injuries, to be behind the blast.

“We have verified his antecedents and found that he was not involved in the blast. We have given him a clean chit,” he told IANS.

He said the police were still struggling for clues in the crude bomb blast that went off Saturday afternoon, killing a 10-year-old boy and left 20 others injured. No more detentions were made, he added.
