Deoband: The national president of Tanzeem Ulema-e-Hind Maulan Syed Ahmad Khizar Shah Masoodi has reacted very sharply to Prof. Tahir Mahmood’s interview in The Hidustan Times in which he has dealt with the issue of beard and other Islamic issues.
Maulan Syed Ahmad Khizar Shah Masoodi has called it unfortunate and a strong sign of the deterioration of Muslim Ummah. “Neither Ulema Kiram are blind nor their followers, however, it appears that Prof. Tahir Mahmood has lost the power of sight” he said.
Maulan Syed Ahmad Khizar Shah Masoodi favored the protest by the Muslims over the Supreme Court’s judgment on beard. “To call judiciary pro-Muslim by Prof. Tahir Mahmood show his mental bankruptcy”. Maulan Syed Ahmad Khizar Shah Masoodi regretted that Prof. Tahir Mahmood called beard a controversial issue.
