Islamic books generate interests of non-Muslims

By RINA,

Dhampur: In this city of the northern state of India every year in the month of April an annual agricultural festival called Nezah is organized. It is considered as one of the biggest festivals of its kind in the area. Although in other cities of Uttar Pradesh like Sambhal, Meerut the annual Nezah festival is also held but the Dhampur’s Nezah is unique in many senses. One of the major attractions of this Nezah is the book stall by Jamat-e-Islami Hind which attracts not only Muslims but also a large number of non-Muslims show their interests in Islamic literature.

This year also Jamaat-e-Islami Hind had its stall in the Nezah. Both Muslims and non-Muslims thronged the stall. On this occasion social activist Salik Dhampuri – who actually hail from here but is presently residing at New Delhi – interacted with the non-Muslims visitors of the stall. He tried his level best to thwart off some very basic misunderstandings about Islam which have penetrated deep into the subconscious of the non-Muslims. Consequently, they have a very negative view about Islam.

Opaquely hinting at the Hindutva forces who are unleashing a wave of terrorism all across the country Mr. Salik Dhampuri opined that before taking stern actions to end the menace of terrorism, government must first end the factories of terrorism where these terrorists are not born but are nurtured and trained in the use of highly sophisticated and advanced weaponry as well. Mr. Salik Dhampuri also spoke in great details about the Unity and Oneness of Allah Subhanahu T’ala to the non-Muslim visitors.

One of the non-Muslim visitors after repeated visits and constant interaction with the member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Ahmad Fuad seemed to have got the lesson. When the small non- Muslim school kids – who were buying Islamic books – were asked why were they buying these Islamic books? Their reply was that their school teachers had told very negative and horrific things about Islam so they wanted to know the truth that has prompted them to buy books on Islam so that they could know the reality about Islam. Not only non-Muslim men but womenfolk also bought several books on Islamic literature from this stall.

The Hindi translation of the Holy Qur’an is also sold like a hot cake. Ibn-e-Farid’s book Ghareloo Jhagrey (Domestic Fights) was also a big hit. Dalit Masail (Dalit Issues) of Mr. Intezar was also success. The success of the stall can be gauged from the fact that in a week long Nezah the stall did the business of more than sixteen thousand of rupees.

The huge number of non-Muslims visitors to the stall is a fair indication that Islam is generating a keen interest among the non-Muslims despite a huge worldwide negative propaganda by the anti-Islamic forces. The Non-Muslim women are also getting attracted towards Islam as well. This is a sign of the Islamic revolution in the reckoning and might take a practical shape very soon insha Allah.
