Kabul : Qari Jan Gir, the chief of justice department in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province, was killed in a roadside bomb blast Wednesday morning, the provincial police chief said.
“At 8 a.m. (0330GMT) a roadside bomb hit the car of Qari Jan Gir when he was heading from home to his office,” provincial police chief Abdul Razaq Yaqubi told Xinhua.
Taliban’s purported spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack, adding that his men planted the mine to kill the official.
