Mumbai: Animated series “Little Krishna” has won the best animation award at the recently concluded Asian Television Awards (ATF) in Singapore.
BIG Animation Pvt. Ltd’s maiden 3D venture “Little Krishna” was created after seven years of research work, handpicked from the chronicles of Krishna. The 13-episode series was premiered on Nick.
So far it has won several awards including five FICCI (the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Frames Awards and three Golden Cursor Awards.
“After being such a massive success in India, it’s for the first time that an Indian original IP is all set to make its presence felt in the global arena,” Ashish S.K., CEO of Big Animation, said in a statement here Monday.
“Little Krishna” is distributed globally by Evergreen Entertainment. Big Animation has also sold its licensing and merchandising rights to Nick and the digital rights encompassing mobile ring tones and digital wallpapers to Hungama.
Big Home Video has bought the home video rights of the same.
“From December onwards ‘Little Krishna’ will be available on every major shelf in the country and hopefully will find its way in every Indian home too,” said Ashish.
Evergreen is also gearing up to showcase “Little Krishna” at Kids Screen Festival in New York and MIPTV media market at Cannes next year.
