PFI launches social awareness campaign in Tamilnadu

Chennai: The social awareness campaign of Popular Front of India began yesterday evening with a gathering of around 3000 people at Tana Street, Puraswalkam in Chennai. The meeting started with the National Song,” Sare Jahan Se Achcha..” with its full vocal rendering quite different from the Army Band often heard at Republic Day pageant.

In his address M. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, State President of the Popular Front of India highlighting the impediments in developments of most backward Muslims, Dalits and Tribal of India, said that “Economic growth index and advancement in defense mechanism though reasonable, the developmental achievements for the most backward Muslims, Dalits and Tribal are still craving and far fetched in National Agenda”

A. Saeed, vice president, Popular Front of India said that most backward class Muslims still linger to avail any rightful freedom in education, hygiene and economy. He reiterated that all concerned should shoulder the responsibility to dissipate such sad situation. He also went a step further to say that the backward Muslims, Dalits and Tribal are more prone to atrocities from religious bigots.

Among the distinguished in the dais were Moulavi Usman Baig Rashadi (President, All India Imam Council), Moulavi M.M. Ibrahim Baquavi, Advocate P. Pughazhayndi (Tamilnadu Peoples’ Right Party), S.M. Rafeeque Ahmed (Social Democratic Party of India), A. Ahmed Fakruddin (Tamilnadu Secretary-PFI) and N. Mohammad (Convenor).
