Iran”s Larijani accuses US of double standards

BERLIN, Feb 6 (KUNA) — Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani, in Munich for the annual security conference, accused the US Friday of double standards regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.

Addressing an informal session of Munich Security Conference ahead of tomorrow’s official opening, Larijani said Iran was condemned because of its nuclear policy “but the US has no problems with the Isareli nuclear program, or the Pakistan nulcear experiment nor the one executed by India.” No sanctions were imposed on Israel, Pakistan nor India for their nuclear programs, Larijani said at the session, attended by some 300 politicians.

The five permanent members in the UN Security Council (UNSC) plus Germany have combined efforts to tackle the controversial Iranian nuclear program.

The West is accusing Iran of using its nuclear program as a cover up for developing nuclear weapons, but Tehran insists the program is peaceful.

The US, said Larijani, “occupied Iraq and Afgahnistan and caused the death of many people.” The top Iranian MP called on the US to admit its mistakes and consider the difference of cultures in the Middle East.
