Jharkhand to get 61 new police stations

Ranchi : The Jharkhand government Friday gave its nod to open 61 new police stations in the state, an official said here.

“The advisory committee of the governor has given its approval to open 61 new police stations in 19 districts of the state,” said P.K. Jajoria, secretary of secretariat coordination committee.

“Of the 61 police stations, 51 will be of A category, six under B category, and the rest under C category. The committee also approved creation of 4,608 posts in these police stations. In the recruitment, youths having computer knowledge will be given preference.”

At present Jharkhand has a total of 212 police stations. The new police stations will come up by end of the year, officials said.
