New Delhi : Following are the facts and figures related to the crimes in Delhi released by Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal at his annual press meet in the capital Friday:

IPC crime: 46,414 cases in 2008, from 53,244 in 2007

Heinous crime: 1,948 cases in 2008, from 2,217 in 2007

Attempt to murder: 367 cases in 2008, from 499 in 2007

Dacoity: 21 cases in 2008 against 33 cases in 2007

Robbery: 498 cases in 2008 against 530 in 2007

Kidnapping for ransom: 21 cases in 2008 against 24 cases in 2007

Snatching: 1,318 cases in 2008 compared to 1,201 in 2007

Motor Vehicle Theft: 9,895 cases in 2008 against 8,039 in 2007

Hurt: 1,852 cases in 2008 against 1,664 cases in 2007

Rape: 453 cases in 2008 against 581 in 2007

Molestation: 590 cases in 2008 compared to 835 in 2007

Drug related offences: 806 persons arrested in 2008

Total taffic tickets issued: 2,640,503 traffic tickets in 2008 compared to 2,197,645 in 2007

Drunken driving: 7,579 tickets were issued against 3,748 in 2007

Red light jumping: 529,026 tickets issued in 2008 compared to 285,429 tickets in 2007

Improper parking: 339,736 tickets issued in 2008 against 188,400 in 2007

Dangerous driving: 132,467 tickets in 2008 against 73,131 in 2007

Fatalities on roads: 1,989 people in 2008 compared to 2,064 in 2007

PCR received 1,001,204 distress calls in 2008

Blueline accidents: 111 in 2008 to 151 in 2007

Jaywalkers: 20,900 tickets issued for jaywalking in 2008

Special Cell: 20 terrorists, one spy, 34 underworld mafia/gangsters and 124 conventional/white collar criminals arrested.
