New Delhi: The US White House has made vast arrangement for the world wide coverage of the US President Barack Obama’s speech to the Muslim world, to be delivered at Cairo University of Egypt.
His speech, expected to give a new direction to the relations between America and Islamic world, will be “texted and tweeted, as well as highlighted on Facebook, Myspace and a host of other social networking sites,” says New York Times.
To multiply the audience and expand the reach, the speech will be translated by the State Department into at least 13 different languages and a special Web site has been created in Arabic, Persian, Urdu and English for people to receive the speech via text message.
One of the Web sites, America.gov/sms.html, will send highlights from President Obama’s speech. The site offers a choice of texts in Arabic, English, Persian or Urdu.
Meanwhile, the New Delhi Embassy of the United States of America has arranged a program for media persons for the live telecast of the speech titled “A New Partnership.” The speech will start at 3.30 p.m. on June 4 at the American Center on Kasturba Gandhi Marg. The speech will be followed by a discussion led by distinguished analysts at the Center.
