Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh police Friday said they had busted a prostitution racket, arresting four men and rescuing four women from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
“Acting on a tip-off, we raided a hideout in the Radhagli area of Firozobad district Thursday night and nabbed the four men,” police inspector Krishna Kumar told IANS on phone. Firozabad is about 350 km from Lucknow.
According to police, the four men arrested have confessed that they are linked with to a prostitution racket. They had brought the women on the pretext of providing them jobs in the city, but intended to sell them.
“All the women are in their early 20s. While two are from Rajasthan, the other two hail from Madhya Pradesh. All of them belong to poor families,” the police officer said.
