55 policemen rewarded by Delhi Police commissioner

New Delhi : Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal Tuesday awarded 55 policemen with a cash reward of Rs 5,000 each for cracking the murder cases of two young working women and arresting members of Satte-Bittu gang.

Dadwal presented the award in recognition of their extraordinary efforts in arresting criminals of Satte-Bittu gang and solving the murder cases of IT executive Jigisha Ghosh and TV journalist Soumya Viswanathan.

The awardees are from the rank of inspector to constable.

“As many as 25 personnel were awarded for making extraordinary efforts in apprehending seven members of the Satte-Bittu gang after a shoot-out in Green Park on January 19,” according to an statement.

The other 30 police personnel were those who made extraordinary efforts in arresting the criminals involved in the murders of IT executive Jigisha Ghosh and TV journalist Soumya Vishwanathan, it added.
