Ghaziabad: A dozen armed robbers looted industrial machines, tools and finished goods from a factory situated on National Highway 58, police said Sunday.
The robbers, armed with pistols, knives and iron rods, late Saturday night barged into the factory after overpowering the guards and tying them up. Locking the guards in a room, the gang then loaded the finished gear wheels as well as the machines, electric motors, boilers and other items onto a truck and fled after locking the factory from outside.
The guards managed to free themselves Sunday morning and informed factory owner Dinesh Arora, who lives in Kavi Nagar area of Ghaziabad, about the incident. Arora then lodged a complaint with the police.
“We have registered a complaint and will soon work out the case,” Superintendent of Police (Rural) K.K. Asthana said.
