Raipur : Eight people including four women were arrested in a late night raid here and charged with prostitution, police said Monday.
Acting on a tip off, a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rajnesh Singh raided a rented house in Kachna area of this Chhattisgarh capital late Sunday night and arrested four men and four women in their early 20s.
Two of the women belong to Nagpur while the others are from Kolkata and Indore. They were reportedly brought here for 15 days.
“The girls and their male agents were running a sex racket at a rented house. They were in the city on bookings made by a few people. Police have seized a diary and a loaded pistol from the girls and are making further investigations,” Singh told reporters.
