Protesters return to blockade Israeli Embassy in Dublin

By IRNA,

London : The Irish Anti-War Movement (IAWM) reiterated its call for the expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland Zion Evronyis while staging their latest blockade of the Israeli Embassy in Dublin on Monday.

The protest, the seventh at the embassy since Israel attacked the Gaza Freedom Flotilla in international waters, killing nine activists, also urged the Irish government to break diplomatic and economic ties with the Zionist regime.

Irish activists, who took part in the flotilla to break Israel’s three-year siege of Gaza, has accused the Zionist regime of trying to whitewash an inquiry into its latest war crime.

IAWM chair of the group Richard Boyd Barrett remains adamant that the world could not simply allow Israel to return to “business as usual” after its “murderous” action against the peace flotilla.

On Thursday, over 130 Irish artists, including novelists, poets, actors, singers, painters and songwriters, are also launching a cultural boycott of Israel in response to a call from Palestinian civil society for an international campaign.

“We pledge not to avail of any invitation to perform or exhibit in Israel, nor to accept any funding from any institution linked to Israel, until such time as Israel complies with international law and universal principles of human rights,” the artists said.
