Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Wednesday attacked opposition Trinamool Congress saying it was spreading anarchy in educational institutions and hampering industrialisation in the state.
“We all know who all are responsible for spreading anarchy in educational institutions in the state; who is behind the killings of teachers and students in the state; who wants to destroy the education system in the state,” Bhattacharjee said in an obvious reference to the Trinamool.
The chief minister also flayed the Trinamool for creating impediments in the government’s industrialisation efforts.
“All those who are now studying in various educational institutions will require employment once they finish their studies and employment can be generated by industrialisation. But we are not allowed to set up industries. All our efforts to industrialise the state are stiffly resisted by the opposition.
“The state has made rapid progress in agriculture and we have to make progress in industry also. But they do not want us to do that,” he said at function of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)-affiliated primary teachers association.
