ICC receives BCCI’s report on Kotla fiasco

By IANS,

Dubai, Jan 11 (IANS) The International Cricket Council (ICC) Monday confirmed it has received a report from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the Ferozshah Kotla pitch.

The ICC’s General Manager – Cricket, David Richardson, and the ICC’s chief match referee Ranjan Madugalle will now consider all the evidence, including studying video footage of the match, before reaching their decision in due course.

The last match of the India and Sri Lanka One-day International (ODI) series had to be abandoned after 23.3 overs after the Kotla pitch was deemed ‘unfit’ by the match referee Alan Hurst.

In accordance with the revised ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, Hurst submitted a report to the ICC expressing his concerns over the quality of the pitch.

The ICC provided the BCCI with a copy of Hurst’s report and requested the BCCI to respond. The BCCI has now provided a reply to the ICC’s request.
