Shimla: There was no let up in the cold conditions in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh Thursday while the lower and mid hills continued to experience pleasant weather. Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti and Kalpa in Kinnaur districts reeled under sub-zero temperatures.
While Keylong recorded a low of minus 9.1 degrees Celsius, Kalpa recorded the night temperature at minus 3.2 degrees.
The weather at the Queen of Hills, as Shimla was fondly called by the British, was pleasant at a minimum of 5.7 degrees Celsius, the Met Office here said.
Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a minimum of 5.3 degrees while it was 6.7 degrees in Dharamsala and 5.1 degrees in Bhuntar in Kullu district.
These towns Wednesday saw a low of 4.3 degrees, 5.7 degrees and 2.5 degrees respectively.
The Met Office forecast rain and snow in the state Friday.
