According to a press statement sent to IRNA in Berlin on Thursday, the German-branch of European Jews for a Just Peace in the Middle East (EJJP) is to deliver “urgently needed things like medicines, baby food, blankets, children’s clothes and school material” to Gaza which remains under siege by Israel and Egypt.

EJJP said the action was aimed at “showing solidarity” with the people of Gaza. It urged German lawmakers to ensure that the relief aid will reach Gaza since Israel has put a land, sea and air blockade on Gaza.

The German Jewish peace activists called the ongoing siege of Gaza “a violation of human rights” as well as international law.

Last December, an international convoy, carrying humanitarian aid for Palestinians, was denied entry into Gaza by Egypt.

EJJP is a network organization of Jewish European peace group working and campaigning in 10 European countries against the occupation of Palestine and for a lasting peace solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
