New Delhi : Guess what are athletes and other foreigners thronging the post offices at the Commonwealth Games Village and the main media centre for? Indian stamps.
The philatelic sales counters are drawing the maximum crowds. On sale are beautifully-designed stamps featuring flora and fauna and subjects dealing with sports, art and culture.
The post offices are also selling philatelic books, the communication ministry said in statement. A “Special Cover” has been issued to mark the arrival Of the Queen’s Baton in the city.
While one post office has been set up close to the Akshardham Temple in the Village, the other is at the main press centre at the Pragati Maidan ground in central Delhi.
