Court directive to Delhi labour department

By IANS,

New Delhi : The Delhi High Court Wednesday directed the labour department of the Delhi government to take action against contractors who fail to provide details about construction workers at various sites of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) projects.

A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Manmohan took note of the fact that only 4,000 out of 17,000 constriction workers in various CWG sites have been registered so far.

The bench directed the Regional Labour Commissioner to take action against the contractors if they fail to provide the details about the labourers who had worked at various sites.
