Aligarh: In a move to promote Hockey in the country, Sports Authority of India (SAI) has sanctioned Rs. 3.90 Crore for the Hockey Astro Turf at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Hockey Astro Turf is the standard field on which the game is played. The works for the Turf will be completed within one year.
Hockey Astro Turf will go a long way in revival of the game at AMU and in the restoration of its glory, said Prof. Tariq Mansoor, the secretary of Games Committee, AMU.
The Astro Turf at the campus will become the centre for Hockey activities in Western UP, he further added.
