Mumbai : India’s Gautam Gambhir was dismissed three short of a deserving century in the World Cup final against Sri Lanka here Saturday.
Gambhir (97) guided India’s innings and added 109 runs with captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (60 not out).
The left-handed batsman, who hit nine fours in his 122-ball knock, saw his stumps rattled when he came down the track against Thisara Perera.
India, while chasing 275, were 223/4 after 41.2 overs
