Ahmedabad : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will later this week lay the foundation stone of five major works for the Kutch Branch Canal (KBC) costing Rs.1,265 crore, said Minister of Water Supply Nitinbhai Patel here Thursday.
The KBC, a man-made 360-km water body, will be the longest one among all the 96 rivers running through Kutch. It will be the only perennial water channel in the district. Out of the total length, a 33-km stretch is ready with water flowing in it.
The total estimated cost of various command area development (CAD) works in Kutch district under the Sardar Sarovar Project is around Rs.4,600 crore, Patel said.
