New Delhi : Nationalist Congress Party General Secretary D.P. Tripathi Friday said there was a lot of corruption in Uttar Pradesh and also criticised the “high corruption” taking place in Maharashtra.
Speaking during a discussion on “Challenges facing Uttar Pradesh”, organised by the Observer Research Foundation here, Tripathi, who is in-charge of Maharashtra where the NCP is a ruling partner with the Congress, admitted that high corruption is taking place in the state.
“There are high levels of corruption in Maharashtra too. I admit it. But, unlike UP, neither the quality of work nor the developmental schemes are compromised in Maharashtra,” said Tripathi.
He said “in Uttar Pradesh, there are various types of corruption – like efficient corruption, inefficient corruption and decentralized corruption”, that is pushing the state into a “terrific situation”.
