JD-U MPs, legislator skip disciplinary committee hearing

By IANS,

Patna: Two MPs and a legislator of Bihar’s ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) Saturday refused to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee to answer charges of anti-party activities during the Bihar assembly elections.

A party source told IANS that Rajya Sabha member Upendra Kushwaha, Lok Sabha member Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh, and state Legislative Council member Prem Kumar Mani were asked to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee Saturday to explain their position but refused to appear.

According to party sources, the three were issued notices for second time to appear before the committee after they failed to appear last month.

Kushwaha, Singh and Mani are among 750 party leaders who have been served show-cause notices last month by the disciplinary committee on charges of anti-party activities during the assembly elections.
