Pakistani Taliban militants operate from Afghan soil: Police

Islamabad : A senior Pakistani police officer says that Pakistani militants have now set up bases in Afghanistan and launch attacks on Pakistani border posts from there.

Fayaz Ahmed Khan Turu, Inspector General of Police in northwestern Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province said that militants from Pakistan’s Swat valley, Bajaur and Mohmand tribal regions are receiving training in Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province.

‘The perpetrators of bloody attacks on Pakistani area are Pakistani Taliban as well as Afghan Taliban. The government of Pakistan has protested to Afghanistan over the incursion,’ Turu told Geo television in an interview.
