Orissa government misleads people: Tytler

By IANS,

Bhubaneswar : Congress general secretary Jagdish Tytler Tuesday accused the Orissa government of misleading people by circulating wrong facts about central fund allocations to the state.

The Naveen Patnaik government is misleading the people of Orissa that the central government is not giving money, Tytler, who is in charge of the Congress party’s affairs in Orissa, told reporters here.

“The truth is that under the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) rule, per capita loan increased from Rs.5,704.04 crore in 2001 (for the state) to Rs.12,479.29 crore,” he said.

He also accused the state government of not utilising the central funds allocated to the state.

Tytler alleged that though the state was allocated Rs.754.23 crore for the improvement of sewerage system, the government failed to spend even half of the amount.

Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) spokesperson Baishnab Parida rubbished the allegations and said Tytler should look at the misrule of his own party before pointing fingers at others.
