Edgbaston (Birmingham) : India’s Sania Mirza went down fighting in the singles first round of the $220,000 AEGON Classic tennis tournament.
Sania lost 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 to Tamira Paszek of Austria in the grasscourt event Tuesday.
The tournament is the first of the two warm-up tournaments on grass ahead of the All England Championships at Wimbledon, beginning June 20.
