Farmers online registration gains momentum in MP

Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh the work of online registration of state’s farmers, to facilitate them to sell their produce on support price has gained momentum. During the last one month, the number of registered farmers has gone up to 7,274. Eight hundred to 900 registrations are being made every day. The State Government intends to cover maximum number of farmers under the scheme. Therefore, the process of online registration will continue up to March before the procurement season begins.

It has been made abundantly clear that this advance registration is in the interest of farmers. For this purpose, entire system is being made strong, transparent and easy. Farmers’ overwhelming response to the scheme can be gauged by the fact that 7,274 farmers have got themselves registered in just one month. These include some farmers who sell large quantities of produce.

According to Commissioner Food Mrs. Deepali Rastogi, over 977 farmers have been registered in Jabalpur, followed by 821 farmers in Seoni district. Importantly, 800 to 900 farmers are getting registered everyday nowadays while this number was 200 to 300 daily in the initial stages.

Four Contact Officers have been appointed division-wise for coordination. Not only this, but farmers have also been given facility of toll-free number 1800-233-6411 for solving their problems and difficulties at the state level. ([email protected])
