Malappuram: The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development & External Affairs, Mr. E. Ahamed visited the Malappuram Centre of Aligarh Muslim University at Perinthalmanna along with Education Minister of Kerala, Mr. P.K. Abdu Rabb to evaluate the progress of the AMU’s Centre.
During his visit, Mr. E. Ahamed assured that the Government of India is committed to building up of the Malappuram Centre and construction wall of the AMU Centre will be completed in stipulated time.
He expressed satisfaction over construction work there: “The construction of the campus was progressing well and construction of building for the campus would begin soon” he said.
The Kerala Education Minister, Mr. P.K. Abdu Rabb also assured that the commitment by the State Government will also be fulfilled. The funds required will be made available soon, he announced.
Earlier, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Abdul Azis said that he was hopeful about the development of the Malappuram Centre, a project with potential to change the educational future of a large number of people, particularly from the Muslim community.
Dr. P. Mohamed, Director of the AMU Malappuram Centre welcomed the dignitaries and briefed the action taken by the AMU till date for the Centre. It should be noted here that the classes for MBA and BALLB courses have already started at the Centre.
Mr. E. Ahamed was accompanied by Mr. A. Ali, MLA (Perinthalmanna), Mr. T.A. Ahmed, MLA (Mankada) and Mr. Jugal Singh, Under Secretary, MHRD. The senior officials of CPWD explained the status of various ongoing works.
