Mumbai: A Mumbai special court Tuesday deferred till Aug 31 the verdict on punishment in a murder case involving mafia don-turned-politician Arun Gawli and 11 others, a lawyer said.
The 12 accused were found guilty by the court last Friday for their role in the killing of former Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar here in 2007.
The argument on quantum of punishment for the 12 accused, including Gawli, ended Tuesday and the court decided to deliver the verdict Aug 31, said the lawyer, who appeared in the hearing.
