New Delhi: With no sign yet of a breakthrough in the stalemate in parliament over BJP’s demand for the prime minister’s resignation over coal block allocations, the government may get some bill passed amidst the din, official sources said Tuesday.
They said the government was keen to pass at least 18 of the listed bills in the monsoon session but it might not be possible to pass all of them in the remaining period of the session.
The sources said some bills may have to be passed in the din if the stalemate persists
They said a bill for setting up AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences)-like centres has to be passed in this session itself as classes are beginning from Sep 15.
The source said the government was also keen to pass some anti-corruption bills such as Whistleblowers Protection Bill and Prevention of Bribery to Foreign Officials Bill.
