AMU launches internationally accredited SPSS Software package

Aligarh: The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Sibghatullah Farooqui today launched the internationally accredited SPSS Software package to the academic community of the University at the Computer Centre.

On this occasion, Prof. Farooqui appreciated the efforts of Computer Centre to provide utility services for students and staff of the University. He also requested the Computer Centre to enhance the internet speed.

The Director, Computer Centre, Prof. Qazi Mazhar Ali said that the Centre conducted a survey among the teaching and research units of the University and identified the packages which are used by the academic community.

He said that for the first time the AMU internet is being used for computing purposes. He further said that the internet of AMU for the last seven years is extensively being used for surfing through 114 nodes in the University and accessing of research journals, books and usher e-learning material made available by Maulana Azad Library of the University.

Prof. Mazhar Ali said that the Computer Centre is planning to modernize the establishment and other building under XII Plan. “We are also planning to convert the existing classrooms into smart classrooms”, he added.

Mr. Malik Hayat Hashmi of Computer Centre described the features of the SPSS through PowerPoint and said that it could be used in teaching and research in Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Science and Life Science subjects.
The inaugural function was conducted by Mr. Saleem Ali and Dr. Ashfaq proposed the vote of thanks.
