Hyderabad: Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, a 1999 batch I.A.S officer is now appointed as the District Magistrate (or district collector) of Hyderabad. He is taking this post from Natrajan Gulzar who is going on 2 years leave to pursue a post graduate course in public administration and international development in Harvard Kenned school at Harvard University in the US.
Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi is presently working as collector of Krishna district; he has also held the post of Joint collector of Ranga Reddy district. Mr. Rizvi hails from Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. He had studied electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur and public management and policy from IIM Ahmedabad before becoming an I.A.S officer. He is expected to take the office of district collector of Hyderabad in the next week.
