New Delhi : A Delhi court Thursday reserved its order on Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s plea seeking issuance of summons against Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijender Gupta in a defamation case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Saumya Chauhan put up the matter for order June 4 after Dikshit’s counsel Mehmood Pracha concluded his argument.
Pracha told the court that Gupta has neither responded to the legal notice served upon him nor has he apologised for his remarks. Instead, he reiterated the derogatory words against Dikshit, the counsel said.
Chief Minister Dikshit Wednesday recorded her statement against Gupta and requested the court to summon him.
Dikshit filed the case against Gupta for allegedly using “uncivilised” language in hoardings put up prior to last month’s civic polls.
The chief minister told the court that she had sent legal notices to Gupta after the civic polls, but the BJP leader did not apologise.
