UMAF, which Majlis-e-Itehadul-Muslimeen is also a member, has met SHRC chairman Nisar Ahemd Kakru and submitted his complaint that since the controversy over Bhagya Lakshmi temple erupted, police has implemented undeclared curfew in many parts of old city, and Muslim localities are seized with barricades.

UAMC president and general secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Moulana Abdul Raheem Qureshi told the SHRC chairman that a reign of terror has been unleashed by policemen, stopping all vehicular traffic and forcing residents to remain indoors.

He also said Police are forcing closure of shops and business establishments, including petrol bunks and hotels and driving away the street hawkers.

MIM president and Hyderabad MP, who also accompanied the UAMC president, demanded that SHRC should pass the order to district administration that hawkers, fruit and vegetable vendors around Charminar should be compensated for their loss.

After receiving the petition SHRC has directed chief secretary, DGP and CP to file a status report within 48 hours.
