Bhubaneswar : A piece of limestone plaster weighing about one kg allegedly fell from an unidentified location inside the Jagannath temple complex in Odisha’s Puri town Sunday injuring a temple servitor, a temple official said.
“We don’t know the source of the limestone plaster. It was about one kg in weight and a servitor has sustained minor injuries on his head and body,” temple public relations officer Laxmidhar Pujapanda told IANS.
A team of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which is in charge of maintenance of the 12th century shrine, will visit the temple Monday and examine the plaster debris, he added. Puri is about 56 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
