AMU and JMI among teams competing for Toyota University Cricket Championship

New Delhi: Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) and Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) are among eight university cricket teams that will compete at Toyota University Cricket Championship (TUCC), a T-20 cricketing series to encourage cricket at the university level in India.

Launched by Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., TUCC which is a joint initiative is supported by New Delhi Television (NDTV), The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and The Ministry of Human Resource Department.

The tournament that begins on Feb 23rd has been designed in a 20-20 format. TUCC will feature the top eight University Cricket teams. The participating teams for the 2013 Championship, which have been selected from four regional zones, are Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia islamia, Awdhesh Pratap Singh University, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Mumbai University, Jiwaji University, University of Madras and Jain University.

All the matches will be televised LIVE on NDTV.
