Frisking queues at metro stations to get shorter: CISF

By IANS,

New Delhi : Delhi Metro commuters will soon get relief from the long wait in queues for frisking with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) planning to shorten this time by deploying more gadgets and personnel, the paramilitary force’s chief said Friday.

Normally the metro commuters have to spend around 8-12 minutes at the frisking area during peak hours, but the CISF, which has 5,000 personnel at 134 Metro stations, has decided to effectively bring down this to five to six minutes.

“We will be deploying extra manpower and machines at 8-10 busy stations and have asked Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to provide us more frisking space so that we can enhance our logistics to handle the rush of passengers,” said CISF’s Director General Rajiv.

The decision is expected to shorten queues for security check at busy Delhi Metro stations like Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat and Chandni Chowk, among others.
