Don’t see each other as rivals, poet tells women

Agra : Poet Sneh Thakur from Canada said here on International Women’s Day that women should not see each others as rivals and should instead be partners for the development of society.

“Women should not be treated or seen as rivals. Rather they are partners in a common pursuit of happiness and all round development of society,” Thakur said.

She was addressing students at the Central Hindi Institute on International Women’s Day and later at a public reception in her honour at hotel Goverdhan by the Braj Mandal Heritage Conservation Society.

Thakur said: “Indian values and perceptions are vastly different from the west. Instead of being aggressive, women should, as perhaps nature designed them, be polite, decent and motivating.”
